Leaflet on Internet Explorer 11 w/ Compatability View

I have a site that is built using an older version of the .NET framework. I have implemented the Leaflet Pluggin for MapQuest to enable directions and routing. In all other browsers, the implementation is working correctly and as intended. In the Internet Explorer browser, it works correctly when Compatibility View settings are NOT enabled. Once Compatibility View settings are enabled, the site no longer works correctly. When I execute the button click event to request from the API, nothing happens visually. My map and directions table is not displayed.

Is this a known issue? Is there a common fix for this issue?

What is supposed to be
What is supposed to be happening?   Is the map not appearing as expected?   Are there any errors in the console?   Are any requests visible in the network tab?

I have a "Run" button that

I have a "Run" button that calls the API, loads the directions into the table, and loads the locations and routing onto the map, then displays both the directions table and the map. Within the onclick attribute of the button, it calls the function to execute this and then returns false (to cancel postback).

When I click the Run button, the page does not execute the javascript that is within the onclick attribute of the button and posts back to the server. No error messages are present in the console, and all network traffic relative to the postback instead of the API request call.

Is there a url where we can
Is there a url where we can see this happening?   Do the Leaflet plugins work as expected in this mode using the samples in the Developer Network?
